I am an experimental space scientist and professor with a background in electronic engineering. My primary research activity is in the high-altitude high-latitude atmosphere and near-Earth space environment using high-power radar as well as bespoke night-vision optical systems. Private interests include travel (especially to the Arctic, deserts and jungles), wildlife safaris, off-roading in my Landrover, and ancient architecture wherever I can find it.
